Summertime is a series that grew from my practice of working from nature in the summer months. I began to photograph and sketch the children who I saw growing up there. Their play reflected an enviable ease and closeness to nature:  a summer idyll like something lost to the past. Their play became a narrative about the roots of storytelling and narrative, the role of play in understanding our world.
